24 Oct 2025: Selkirk championship

We have three updates to report:   Steve Leckie has beaten Harry Cornwell;  Tam Wylie has beaten Steve Carter; and John Moore has beaten Tam Wylie.  We also welcome new member Nick Dunne to the championship.   Full details and the current crosstable are on the Club News page...

21 Oct 2025: First league match of 2025-26

Waverley Bowlng Club was the venue for the first match of the season.  The result was a 2-2 draw between Gala and Selkirk B, with Martin Wallace and Keith Robinson recording wins for Gala, and Geoff Hope and Sam Cornwell scoring wins for Selkirk B.  A good match to start the season.

The fixtures page has the full result, plus a rollercoaster board 1 game between Martin Wallace and Dave Bogle, and the board 3 game between Rob Crosbie and Sam Cornwell.

Also, we have the draws for the Borders Individual Championships, both the Mlnor section and the Championship section itself.

The Borders Chess League AGM was held at 7.30pm on Tuesday 7th October in the County Hotel, Selkirk.  There was a good turnout, with around 20 players there, and a full report is on this page...
