08 Sep 2026: first game in Selkirk Championship
The first result is in! Kevin Poulton has beaten Chris Nathan in the minor section, and the crosstable has been updated.A quick recap of the rules is:
- Each player within their groups will play each other once
- Colour will be decided on the night, by usual means
- All games will be recorded on Chess Scotland
- Usual time restraints of 1 hour ten minutes for the first 30 moves and an additional 20 minutes to finish.
- The time restraints may be varied by both players' consent. However, the minimum for standard rating is 1 hour all moves.
- If a player leaves the competition for any reason, the remaining games will be defaulted and already played games will still be recorded by Chess Scotland.

25 Aug 2026: Selkirk AGM is held
The Selkirk AGM was held on the last Tuesday of August, and went off very successfully. Selkirk will again be fielding two teams in the Borders League this season, and the club finances are healthy too (though there will be a small increase in subs to allow for extra expenses).
Other matters were also discussed, including social nights out for meals; but the GM can be summed up as "Steady as she goes". The club will largely continue as before.
