04 Jul 2025: Details of quickplay tournament

We’re excited to announce a special Borders Allegro Chess Tournament, taking place on Saturday 2nd August 2025, from 11am to 4pm at the Hawick Business Centre.

This event is proudly organised by the Borders Chess League (https://chessborders.co.uk), which brings together players from Borders clubs, Selkirk, Galashiels, Kelso, and the NHS. We’re hosting the tournament to mark the arrival of our brand new electronic, tournament grade boards.

Tournament details:

A buffet of food and drink will be provided on the day by a local caterer. We hope to see players of all levels from across the Borders (and beyond) taking part in what promises to be a great day of chess and community. To register, simply email with your name and club (if applicable). Early sign up is encouraged as places may be limited.
